At 2.30 pm on Foundation Day the 6th March 2002 this plaque was dedicated at Emily Bay. A representative of each branch of the family took part in the ceremony. As a family we felt that now the twins lives have been commemorated and there is now a place visitors to the island and family members can go to remember these two little girls.

Mary and Sarah, two precious little girls who came into this world together and like most twins probably had a very special bond with each other. Two short years, lives tragically cut short, innocent children in a harsh environment.

Mary and Sarah parted tis life as not much more than babies but they are to us (their family) two very special little girls, and they are the reason we gathered at Emily Bay to celebrate their lives and unveil this memorial to them.

May these two precious little angles rest in peace forevermore.
